The Field Service Engineer reports to the Field Service Manager or Director of Technical Service and performs tasks associated with the field servicing of Hamilton Storage instruments.

 

Responsible for all Field Service activities in assigned territory.

• Troubleshoot and repair Hamilton Storage Bios instruments and subassemblies on site and remotely.
• Maintain a safe, neat, and orderly work area while servicing an instrument within the department, individual workstation, or customer facility.
• Responsible for arranging air travel, car rental, and hotel accommodations.
• Responsible as primary field service engineer within assigned territory as well as provide back up support to other areas as required.
• Responsible for practicing good laboratory practices while in a customer’s laboratory.
• Will be required to travel overnight and on consecutive nights as necessary.
• Ability to work additional hours and the flexibility to work overtime as and when required.
• Responsible for keeping assigned instruments current on preventive maintenance and service bulletins.
• Reports problems and performs root cause analysis on instrument failures.
• Coordinates and schedules Field Service activities in assigned territory.
• Other duties as assigned.

*New England day travel 35% travel outside of New England up to 25%

• A.S. or B.S. in engineering or similar discipline, or equivalent experience as determined by department manager.
• Two to four years field service experience, experience in biomedical field service is an advantage.
• Experience in automation, robotics, or similar fields, is essential.
• Must speak fluent English.
• Must have a good driving record and maintain adequate insurance on personal car.

• Demonstrated ability and desire to work to stringent department and company quality standards.
• Ability and willingness to work in a safety conscious manner necessary due to potential hazardous chemicals, biologicals, and radioactivity.
• Ability and willingness to travel overnight, and on consecutive nights sometimes with little to no notice subject to business requirements.
• Ability and willingness to work with non-technical customers and co-workers in a professional and courteous manner.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of company instrument application programs and personal computer disk operating systems.
• Beckhoff Twin CAT, Elmo Studio, Vision Systems, and barcode reading would be an advantage.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft D365 Service module and other day to day functions.
• Ability to Troubleshoot electrical systems to the circuit board level.
• Ability to Troubleshoot mechanical assemblies to the component level.
