The Field Service Engineer reports to the Field Service Manager or Director of Technical Service and performs tasks associated with the field servicing of Hamilton Storage instruments.
Responsible for all Field Service activities in assigned territory.
- Troubleshoot and repair Hamilton Storage Bios instruments and subassemblies on site and remotely.
- Maintain a safe, neat, and orderly work area while servicing an instrument within the department, individual workstation, or customer facility.
- Responsible for arranging air travel, car rental, and hotel accommodations.
- Responsible as primary field service engineer within assigned territory as well as provide back up support to other areas as required.
- Responsible for practicing good laboratory practices while in a customer’s laboratory.
- Will be required to travel overnight and on consecutive nights as necessary.
- Ability to work additional hours and the flexibility to work overtime as and when required.
- Responsible for keeping assigned instruments current on preventive maintenance and service bulletins.
- Reports problems and performs root cause analysis on instrument failures.
- Coordinates and schedules Field Service activities in assigned territory.
- Other duties as assigned.
